Chianti Wine & Olive Oil Tour - TRIP CODE: WFCHIA02
In the heart of Tuscany, between Florence, Siena and Arezzo, Chianti is an area covered with woodlands, rows of vines and olive orchards. The climate is continental, with relatively low temperatures in winter, while summer is dry and hot. The soils vary from area to area, but it is possible to identify a common element, that is the mixture of stones and pebbles of calcareous clays, of limestone and schist. Chianti wines are dry, with balanced acidity and gripping tannins.
Visit a true and authentic agricultural establishment whose activities are centered around wine and olive oil. Visit the old cellar and learn about Chianti Classico wines. Discover the complexity of a production that seeks to match the olive tree to its land, oil olive to its grove, through a tasting of different types of extra virgin olive oils. Then, enjoy a wine tasting and light lunch.
In the afternoon, visit one more winery of the area and sample different types of both traditional and Super Tuscan wines. Stopover in a medieval Tuscan village, stroll around and browse the little shops for traditional handmade crafts and souvenirs.
